UPDATED HALLOWEEN TIME 2024. During Disneyland’s Halloween Time guests are treated to a wide variety of decor, entertainment and fall festivities. One thing many guests look forward to is the Halloween parade, which now shows only during the exclusive party—Oogie Boogie Bash.
In this article we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the Frightfully Fun Parade showing this fall at California Adventure Park.
Halloween Parade at Oogie Boogie Bash
We love Disneyland Resort parades, but the only way to experience this villainous parade is exclusively at the separate ticketed event, Oogie Boogie Bash. This not so scary party is held every Halloween Time along with the ultimate trick or treat experience, meeting your favorite villains and so much more.
Here are a few tips for viewing Frightfully Fun Parade at Oogie Boogie Bash:
- There are two showings each night of Oogie Boogie Bash, check the Disneyland app entertainment section for exact details
- The parade route runs between Paradise Gardens Park and Hollywood Land
- Book specialty dining parade viewing areas in advance on the Disneyland website
- View the second parade for lower crowd levels
Frightfully Fun Parade Villains
Floating through the streets of California Adventure during Oogie Boogie Bash, if you have tickets to the party, this is one event you don’t want to miss! The Frightfully Fun Parade is full of completely unique thrills and can only be seen during the party on select nights. Get ready for the ultimate combination of ghosts, goblins, villains and more to take over the night, in an experience you won't be able to see anywhere else!
Leading the parade is the one and only Headless Horseman of Ichabod Crane and Mr. Toad fame. This appearance is part of the pre-parade so be sure you’re in your viewing area well before the parade’s start time. It’s a great way to kick off this Disneyland Halloween parade.
Get Away Today Tip: Stop for a picture with the Headless Horseman statue on Buena Vista Street in California Adventure anytime during Halloween Time.
Once the Headless Horseman has captured everyone's attention, enter the main man himself straight from Halloweentown, Jack Skellington, who brings out all of his frightful friends to celebrate their favorite holiday! Remember, you can also find this crazy crew over in Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Park during Halloween Time.
Next, the ballroom dancers of the Haunted Mansion come alive. These iconic ghosts will step out of their mansion and onto the parade route with their classic ballroom dance routine. And not to fear, everyone's three favorite hitchhiking ghosts will make an appearance from the classic attraction as well.
Along with these death defying guests, the Frightfully Fun Parade features villains from your favorite Disney movies. The wicked Dr. Facilier from "The Princess and the Frog" leads the way and opens the portal for other villains to appear. Keep your eyes peeled (or covered) for the likes Hades, Jafar, Cruella, the Evil Queen and so many more!
More Halloween Time Festivities
Just to be clear, you don't have to attend Oogie Boogie Bash to enjoy Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, which is included with regular admission. You'll love the Pumpkin Festival on Main Street U.S.A. that features hundreds of unique hand carved jack-o-lanterns.
You'll also want to be sure to get your picture taken by the giant Mickey pumpkin and all of the Disney characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes. Take a ride on Haunted Mansion Holiday and taste all the Halloween Time food to really get you into the spirit of the season.
On Oogie Boogie Bash Party nights California Adventure will close at 6:00 pm for anyone who doesn't have a ticket. If you have a Park Hopper ticket (which we highly recommend), you can head over to Disneyland Park. We've also put together an article with 13 things to do during Oogie Boogie Bash if you don't have tickets.
