No-Majs across the country were able to take a trip to the Wizarding World this past weekend with the new movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The story takes place before the time of our beloved Harry Potter and his Hogwarts adventures. Viewers get to immerse themselves in a whole new era of the Wizarding World as Newt Scamander arrives in New York City with a suitcase full of magical creatures.
The visual effects are stunning and the characters are incredibly endearing. It is a treat to be welcomed back to a land of witches and wizards. The magical adventure is sure to be a hit with avid Harry Potter supporters and new muggle fans!
You can take a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and literally step into the magical world at Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando. Experience the magic for yourself at Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade. Sip on a cool glass of Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks and browse through a selection of wands at Ollivanders. I can't wait to see what kind of fun the park engineers are going to create with the magical beasts from the new movie! What creatures do you want to see come to life at the theme parks?
Surprise your family with a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on either coast with our free printable magical creature pop-up card! You are guaranteed to find a fantastic family adventure at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter together.
I love the surprise of a pop-up card! They are much more fun than a regular flat card. Don't you agree? To start, print the three templates onto cardstock paper.
Cut around the edges of the suitcase on the Outside Suitcase and Inside Suitcase pages. The suitcase is often in the spotlight in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them movie. It is amazing to see what Newt keeps inside of it.
Fold the suitcase pieces in half with the plain side of the paper on the inside and the printed images on the outside. Cut along the dashed "cut lines" from the center of the Inside Suitcase page towards the edge of the card. Stop cutting where the cut lines end. Fold the entire page closed so that the printed images are on the inside and then pop the cut slits of the inner suit case piece out so they form a square.
Cut the fantastic beasts out from their page along the border of their bodies. I didn't fuss too much over getting all of white border from around their scaled backs and feet. In school we called it a bubble cut.
Place a strip of double-sided tape or a bit of glue from a glue stick along the front edge of the three pop up boxes. Then stick the beast onto the tape/glue to secure it to the card.
Write the date of your vacation departure onto the passport stamp section of the card.
At this point, the card should look like this.
Cut the handle from the fantastic beasts page of the printable. Tape it to the top center of the Outside Suitcase paper. It should look like a regular suitcase handle.
Next, put the two parts of the suitcase together to form a single card. The inside will tuck right into the outside. Make sure that the top of the suitcase is lined up with the bottom of the inside part. Play with it a few times before you secure it in place to be certain that it opens up correctly. Use the double-sided tape or a glue stick to keep the two parts together.
Now your card is ready for action!
I hope this fantastic beasts pop-up card will help your family find an amazing trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Your magical adventure together will be priceless!
