What You Can and Can't Bring into Disney Parks

UPDATED MARCH 2024. To keep things running so smoothly and safely, Disney has some rules on what you can and can’t bring into Disney Parks. We are here to help you know everything on that list to have the easiest vacation possible!

What You Can and Can't Bring into Disney Parks

There is so much that goes into a Disney vacation and sometimes you don't even think about what you can and can't bring into the theme parks until the last minute. Well we are here for you with some updated policies regarding what you can and can't bring into Disney Parks.

These policies apply to both Disneyland Resort in California, and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Security checkpoints are various points before you arrive at the gates and before you can store any items in a locker. Prohibited items will not be permitted past security, even if you planned on storing them inside a locker.

All of these rules are in place to help everyone have the most enjoyable park experience possible. We are going to go over the most important and frequently asked questions on what you can and can't bring into Disney Parks in Florida and California.

The Quick List of What You Can Bring into Disney Parks

  • Strollers - size restrictions apply
  • Food
  • Drinks - non alcoholic beverages only
  • Backpacks
  • Bags
  • Purses
  • Medication
  • Service Dogs
  • Makeup

Have more questions on these allowed items? We’ll discuss them in more detail below.

The Quick List What You Can’t Bring into Disney Parks

  • Wagons
  • Large and/or hard side coolers
  • Loose ice - must be contained in a bag or baggie
  • Glass containers
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Cigarettes / E-cigarettes / Vape Pens
  • Selfie sticks
  • Luggage
  • Folding chairs
  • Masks / Adult costumes
  • Skateboards
  • Matches / Lighters
  • Pepper Spray
  • Speakers
  • Wrapped gifts - keep them in gift bags if bringing a present
  • Shopping baskets or carts

Keep reading for more details on these items, plus a list of interesting things that are also prohibited. Because even though you may have never even considered bringing that Pogo Stick, it is also not allowed at Disney Parks.

What You Can Bring into Disney Parks

There are so many things you can bring with you to Disney Parks that sometimes it’s hard to pair it down. Good thing lockers are always an option! Here are some items that are totally ok to bring, and some you may have not even thought of bringing until now.

You Can Bring or Rent a Stroller at Disney Parks

We’ve seen strollers save the day more than once at Disney! You are more than welcome to bring your stroller from home or rent one a single or double stroller right at theme parks. Not only are they great for pushing around tired children, strollers are also perfect for storing snacks, drinks, souvenirs and whatever else you can think of!

Strollers brought into the Resorts must be no larger than 31" (79cm) wide and 52" (132cm) long. Measure from the very widest parts of the stroller to find its maximum width and length and check if it fits. These dimensions apply to many common single and double strollers.

You Can Bring Food and Drinks to Disney Parks

Snacks and pre-made foods (like sandwiches) are all allowed into Disney Parks. Plus, they are a huge life and money saver! When your kids get hungry in the middle of line or you are just looking for something to hold you over until you are ready for a corn dog, snacks are invaluable.

Also, admittedly, Disney food has never been known for its value (but it is all so delicious!). So if you are looking to save a bit of extra cash, bring in your own pre-made meal for a few lunches or dinners of your vacation to help out!

You will also be doing a lot of walking at the parks and it is important to stay hydrated. Non-alcoholic drinks and waters are totally something you can bring into Disney, it’s even encouraged! It is so nice to have a drink on hand whenever you need to quench your thirst. You can bring refillable water bottles and refill them at water stations throughout the parks.

You might have also noticed the “no loose ice” rule listed in the other section of this article. An easy fix is to freeze a few water bottles and put them in the bottom of your soft side cooler. Then as they melt, you have ice cold water! If you still need ice, be sure it is contained in a sealed bag, or use an ice pack.

You Can Bring a Blanket to Disney Parks

Bring something you don’t mind putting on the ground. Blankets or beach towels are perfect for when you need to save a spot for your favorite Disney Parade or warming up on a cool evening or even drying off after a water ride. Blankets are great when you have a stroller or bag that make it easy to carry around!

You Can Bring a Backpack to Disney Parks

You can bring your bag or backpack on almost every single ride at Disney Parks. With the exception of a couple attractions, every ride at Disney will have a small pouch for you to stow your backpack, or space at your feet.

Your trusty bag can take on all the adventures Disney has to offer with you! Just remember all bags will be screened and/or searched as you enter the secure Disney perimeter.

You Can Bring Medication to Disney Parks

We have stated this above, but will reiterate it here: Disney wants everyone to have the most magical vacation. So if you need any specific medications, food or liquids, Disney will make an exception if you need it to have a safe and healthy visit. Prescription and over the counter medication do not need to be in their original containers but you may be asked what they are. Please note marijuana is not permitted at Disney Parks in any form.

You Can Bring Personal Cameras to Disney Parks

As long as it is not a large, professional camera (think a TV Camera), you are free to bring your personal camera with you to Disney Parks. And we highly recommend it! There is nothing quite like looking back on all of your Disney vacation photos.

You Can Bring Service Dogs to Disney Parks

We once had the honor of riding Pirates of the Caribbean with a service dog. That hard-working professional pup enjoyed every minute of the ride, all while helping their owner have the best experience.

Disney is fantastic about any sort of special needs you, or the people travel with, might have. Let the Cast Members know at City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. if there is any additional services you might need. They are always happy to help.

You Can Bring Makeup to Disney Parks

Many guests inquire about bringing makeup into the park. While there is nothing on the Disney website regarding make up, we recommend having it in clear plastic containers so it is easily identifiable when bags are screened at security.

You Can Bring Glow Sticks to Disney Parks

These add fun to every Disney vacation! When you are there as the sun sets or the lights go down, it’s also a great way to keep an eye on your group.

You Can Bring Battery Packs to Disney Parks

If you need to bring one to charge your phone, laptop or other electronic device, you are welcome to.

You Can Bring Mini Fans to Disney Parks

You can bring a battery operated, portable mini fan into the park to help you keep cool.

You Can Bring Umbrellas to Disney Parks

We all know it rains frequently at Walt Disney World, and yes it can rain at Disneyland too! We absolutely recommend bringing an umbrella into Disney Parks if the weather is looking dreary.

Don’t Bring These Items to Disney Parks

We gave you a quick rundown of some banned Disney Park items above, but some might need a little more explanation.

No Wagons at Disney Parks

If you are looking to carry children or items, a stroller is the best option for you. All push and pull wagons are something you can't bring into Disney Parks. As of May 1, 2019, this applies to stroller style wagons as well. Any push wagons you might see in the parks are designated ADA items and are permitted at the discretion of Disney Parks security team.

No Large, Hard Side Coolers at Disney Parks

Other than soft sided coolers that are no larger than the 6-pack of soda, no coolers are allowed in the parks. If you want a cool drink, most quick-service restaurants will give you a cup of ice, free of charge! Then just pour your own drink in. If you have a medication or dietary restriction that needs to stay cool, talk to a Cast Member and they will be able to help you bring those items in.

No Loose Ice at Disney Parks

No loose ice or dry ice is permitted at Disney Parks. Instead, you’ll need to use a reusable ice pack or keep ice in a sealed bag.

No Glass Containers or Outside Alcohol at Disney Parks

No glass containers or outside alcohol is allowed anywhere inside of the Disneyland Resort. But that doesn't mean you can't find alcohol there. If you are looking for some delicious and unique alcoholic beverages, head on over to Oga’s Cantina, Blue Bayou or almost any dining location at Disney California Adventure Park for some awesome Disney inspired drinks. Downtown Disney also serves alcoholic beverages at most sit down restaurants.

For the glass container rule, baby food is of course the lone exception.

No Cigarettes / E-cigarettes / Vape Pens at Disney Parks

Smoking and vaping are no longer allowed in either Disneyland or Walt Disney World. In the past there have been designated smoking areas, but they are no longer available inside either Resort. Designated smoking areas are now off-property, and smoking areas near Disney Resort hotels can still be identified by the front desk staff.

No Selfie Sticks at Disney Parks

These little beauties have been banned at Disney Parks for multiple safety reasons, including people losing them on rides. Instead grab a friend with long arms and take some sweet Disney selfies the old-fashioned way.

You can also have photos taken by one of the many Disney PhotoPass photographers throughout the Resorts.

No Luggage at Disney Parks

If you will be coming to Disney straight from the airport, you will need to make a quick pit stop at your hotel first. Even if your room isn’t quite ready yet, all of our hotels will hold your luggage free of charge. That way, you can easily hop on over to the parks without worrying about what to do with your belongings.

No Folding Chairs at Disney Parks

Other than cane-chairs and mobility aids, folding chairs are something you can't bring into Disney Parks.

When you are looking to sit down for a bit you can find plenty of benches and seating around the park for you to enjoy. And if you are looking to grab a bench during a parade, stake out your seat early!

No Costume Masks or Adult Costumes at Disney Parks

Costume masks are not allowed at any time of year, even during Halloween events like Oogie Boogie Bash or Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. For both adults and children, you will have to get creative if you are looking to dress up as that perfect Disney character.

“Disney bounding” is appropriate for adults, while costumes are allowed for children year-round. Hats and face paint are a great alternative while still following the rules and getting into the spirit of Disney.

No Skateboards at Disney Parks

You can have your head in the stars, but you will need to keep your feet on the ground at Disneyland. Skateboards can be dangerous to the rider and other guests in the park.

No Wrapped Gifts at Disney Parks

If you are going to Disney Parks, Disney Springs or Downtown Disney for a birthday party or any sort of celebration—be sure to keep the gift unwrapped or in a gift bag. As long as the Cast Member at security can see what the gift is, and it is something allowed in the parks, you are golden.

No Matches or Lighters at Disney Parks

If you want to celebrate a birthday in the parks, you can bring your own candle for a cake or cupcake, but a match will need to be requested from a Cast Member (most likely in a restaurant). We actually suggest having the birthday celebration in a dining setting where you can request a special, birthday related treat.

No Speakers at Disney Parks

Disney does not permit items that may be disruptive, so err on the side of caution and leave Bluetooth speakers in the hotel room or at home. Plus, the background music in each land is unique to that area and adds to all the magic of your Disney vacation.

No Pepper Spray or Weapons at Disney Parks

Since this is considered a weapon (albeit one for self defense) pepper spray is not allowed at Disney Parks. All other weapons including pocket knives, guns or any toy that has a trigger or weapon-like look to it need to be kept at home.

Strange Things You Can't Bring into Disneyland

To make this list as comprehensive as possible, we thought we would include some of the stranger items on the list of what you can't bring into Disney Parks just in case. We all know these items are on here for some reason or another.

Here is more of what you can't bring into Disney Parks:

  • Unicycles/Tricycles/Motorcycles
  • Sporting Equipment
  • Sling Shots
  • Stink Bombs
  • Airhorns
  • Musical Instruments
  • Pots and Pans
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Pogo Sticks
  • Cremated Remains
  • Weapons (including items that could be used as items)

Because security is located before the lockers, you will want to double check everyone in your party before you leave your hotel to make sure no one has accidentally brought any of the banned items.

Hi! Tablets and mini iPads should be allowed in the Parks, but that is subject to change at any time.

Is it ok to bring tablets or mini iPads into Walt Disney world for picture taking

Anonymous - Any type of sunscreen is allowed in the Parks, so feel free to bring either the lotion or the spray.

I saw toward the top that sunscreen was allowed into the parks, but I wanted to know if it was the lotion kind or the spray that was permitted.

Nik- If the oils are in glass containers, then they wouldn't be allowed in Disneyland. We suggest putting them in plastic containers if you want a better chance of being able to bring them in the Parks. Hope this helps!

Can you bring essential oils? A friend was just there and was told they couldn’t and you throw them out.

Wendy - Oh goodness! What an experience you had! We're so glad you were able to keep your binoculars, even if you weren't able to use them. Thanks for the expert tip!

I didnt see binoculars on the list of items not allowed but my husband was stopped for having them. He just loves using binoculars. They were very expensive binoculars. Security check wasnt going to let him in. We had travelled by train for the day so had nowhere to put them. No way we're we going to just turn them over. They wouldn't hold them for us. After taking with a supervisor wer were allowed to bring them in only if we promised to not take them out of the backpack. They said it was because of celebrities privacy. Beware. No harm or spying was meant . Just as husband who loves to use binoculars. lol

Ashley - You can bring in more than one!

Can you bring in multiple soft sided coolers (2) for a family of 6 or is it one soft sided cooler per family? Thank you!

Lisa- So glad this reference was useful for you. Enjoy your girls trip!

Found this so helpful as I plan my girls trip with my daughters thank you??

Maggy - You can bring your custom lightsaber (from Savi's Workshop) back into Disneyland. We recommend a carrying bag simply because it is such a long item and could be cumbersome to carry around all day. Just note that Disney security Cast Members will look in your bag with the lightsaber so have it easily accessible when you go through. Hope this helps!

Can you bring trekking poles to walk with?

Hi I have a few questions on bringing lightsabers to the park. Are only kids allowed to bring one in? Does it have to be the foldable toy kind? Or the one we build at Davis workshop can we bring it in a different day to the park? Do I need a special bag for the saber? Sorry for so many questions. I saw a group bring in lightsabers to take pictures and I don't want to be told to leave mine at the car. So just wanted to make sure if I bring a toy one or my build one. Thank you in advance.

Anonymous - Yes, refillable water bottles of all kinds (EXCEPT glass) are allowed. Snacks and food of all kinds are also allowed as long as they're not stored in glass containers. Hope this helps!

Can you bring any kinda snacks

Can you bring your refillable water bottle?

Are bubba or yetie cups allowed?

Anonymous- Thanks for reading! No, you will not be allowed to bring cigarettes or a lighter past the security check point and into the Resort.

Are we allowed to bring our cigarettes a d lighter into the park. Since the smoking area is near the entrance.....we can leave the park y smoke and come back in.

Keith- Thanks for reading this list! We recommend not bringing the vape with you on the tour bus to the Disneyland Resort. You will not be permitted to bring it into the Resort in your fanny pack. Hope this helps!

So coming from my hotel on a tour bus... I have had no problem bringing my vape with me concealed in a fanny pack and using in designated areas at Knottsberry Farm, Universal Studios Hollywood and SAN Diego Zoo... Obviously I have no problem vaping outside the park, but how and where could possibly keep it? Seems as if they are just making things more difficult for the average tourist, but no problem for locals who come with their own transportation to keep their vape in there!?

Anonymous- Thanks for reading our blog! You can smoke and/or vape at least 25 feet away from any structures that are located outside the entrance to Disneyland Resort.

Where outside of the park can we vape?

Anonymous- Did you try entering Disneyland through another security line? Sometimes it is the luck of the draw when it comes to Cast Members. Can you take a shuttle from your accommodations to the Disneyland Resort? You are welcome to give us a call at 855-GET-AWAY to see if there's anything we can do to help!

I just visited Disneyland this week and brought booster seats in the Uber for 2 reasons: it's California Law and my children are under the weight/age requirement to safely be without one. NOBODY else had one and I saw hundreds of ppl at the Disneyland gate, Uber/Lyft drop off areas etc. I stored mine in the lockers for rent for 2 days and was told today that I'm not allowed to bring them in again and when I asked how I should safely transport my children to Disneyland the guy at the bag check said he didn't know and maybe I could drop them off at a local hotel (that I'm not staying at!) I was so frustrated and he was rude. Now I don't know what to do. We have own day left.

Rocio- You can bring bottles full of water into the Resort. You're so welcome! Thanks for visiting our blog.

Do I have to bring the insulated water bottles (made of metal) empty into the park or already filled with water ? Thank you for answering my previous question. ??

Rocio- As long as the water bottles are NOT glass, you are welcome to bring them in to Disneyland. And you can get a free cup of ice water from food vendors throughout the Resort, which you can use to refill your bottles throughout the day.

Hello, is it possible for my husband and I to bring in a 32oz & 64oz insulated water bottles?

Anonymous- Guests ages 14+ are not permitted to dress up, even as Marvel characters. If you are attending an event such as Oogie Boogie Bash, you CAN dress up, and you can find costume guidelines here: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/disneyland-resort-costume-guidelines/

Would a MARVEL character be considered a Disney character in the resort? I wanted to cosplay my favorite one. :)

Krystal- Yes, you will be allowed to bring mouthwash and braces wax!

My son recently got braces, can I bring a small plastic bottle of mouthwash? And the wax for the braces?

You can bring in liquids, as long as they're not in glass containers. You can also get soy sauce packets from Lucky Fortune Cookery in Disney California Adventure Park.

Can I bring in bottled condiments, like soy sauce?

Anonymous- There is nothing on the Disney website that states you cannot bring a pencil or pen into the Resort.

Can you bring pencils/ pens?

Suzette- Thanks for asking about wax vape pens. Disney no longer allows vape pens into the resort. You may try contacting Disney directly about this: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/parks/permitted-items/

My husband has a medical card can he still bring his wax pen for usage once we leave the parks? We will be using Uber, left, etc to commute so our hotel is not close by for him to access and satisfy his needs. He has chronic pain and will need access to his medicine!

Robyn- Good question! You will most likely be asked to leave the vape pen outside the Resort. They are not allowed into the parks.

Since vaping is allowed outside Disneyland parks can you carry your vape pen through and into the park so you have the option to use it once you exit?

Anonymous- Correct, vape pens are no longer allowed in Disney Parks.

No vape pens

Hi Liz- That's a good question. Disney Cast Members will sometimes permit canes with small seats, but it is at their discretion. When it comes to a rollator, the same probably applies. You may want to be prepared to rent a scooter from Disney or another vendor on your trip.

I use a rollator for balance when I have to do a lot of walking or standing. Are they allowed or will I have to rent a scooter?

Anonymous- As long as the perfume isn't in a glass bottle, you should be able to bring it into the Disneyland Park. Same goes for deodorant.

Are you aloud to bring perfume and deodorant into the park?

Anonymous- Since a toy lightsaber is not an actual weapon of destruction, they are typically permitted in the Resort. Especially with the opening of Star Wars Land, we expect you will see a lot more of them than usual!

Can you also bring in a toy lightsaber?

Anonymous- You should be able to bring a Harry Potter wand into Disneyland Resort. Good thinking having it unwrapped and ready for inspection at security! Reusable drinking containers are welcome in the parks as well; don't forget you can ask for complimentary ice at most vendors throughout the park if you want it.

Two questions we have Harry Potter wands that we are giving as a gift for someone’s party wouldnit be considered a weapon even if it’s unwrapped and boxed up and also can I bring a reusable cup as long as it’s empty?

John- That sounds like an amazing little chair! While it might get through security due to its inconspicuous packaging, it could get confiscated once in the Resort. It's not their size when folded that is an issue; it's concern once it is in use. You can see where lockers are available for rent via this link: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/locker-rentals/

....and if I can't take those chairs inside, will I have to walk all the way back to my car? Or are there lockers CONVENIENTLY located right by the section that I was get stopped at? Cuz if it would take me about 2 min walk to put it in a locker (so I don't have to walk all the way back to my car), then I would be ok with the risk, I think.

My wife and I have two of those Helinox chairs. But they are not "folding" chairs. The chair is put together kind of the way a tent is, by using tony poles. Then material fits over the poles that makes the seat portion of the chair. Google Helinox Chair and see what I mean. The whole chair folds up into a stuff sack, and it's not bigger than a 2-Liter bottle of soda! Maybe even smaller! These are chairs you would take on a backpacking trip because they are so small. And even if you say they aren't allowed, I have a feeling a cast member would look at the chair and not even know what it was inside of the stuff pack! If they questioned it, I could probably say it's a small folding tripod for my camera and I bet they wouldn't even know! But even if I get passed security, and someone sees me sitting in it, like along a parade or something, would it be confiscated? And that's mainly the reason I think it would be nice to have my own chair is mainly for the parades and waiting for them to started. I realize there is tons of seating at Disneyland but not when it comes to watching the street parades, right?

Richie- There's nothing on the Disneyland list that restricts steel-toed boots. However, they might be a little warm for walking around the Resorts!

Are steel toed boots allowed in the parks?

Anonymous - There is only one ride that does not have a space for your bag, and it's Silly Symphony Swings. At that ride, you are allowed to leave your bag at the line to retrieve after riding. Otherwise, all other rides will either have a space for your bag at your seat, or you can have it at your feet.

If the ride doesn't have somewhere to put your backpack where do you put it?

Anonymous- for bag sizes, Disneyland allows bags SMALLER than: 18" wide x 25" high x 37" deep . It is recommended you bring a standard sized backpack, like something you would have for a school child.

Ashlynella - Many rides have small compartments at your seat where you can stash your backpack.

What size backpack is best?

Where do we put our backpacks when we go on rides? Can we also wear them on the ride?

Anonymous - Anything on wheels (except a stroller/wheelchair) is NOT allowed in Disneyland. So, no wagons and no shopping baskets.

Hello, I have a push foldable shopping basket I want to take to keep our jackets, umbrellas and small Cooler in. Is that allowed?

Jillian- There is nothing on the Disneyland website that specifically prohibits makeup being brought into the Resort. However, if when your bag gets checked prior to entering the Resort and it is decided the makeup cannot be brought in, you can rent a locker to keep your makeup in.

I'm planning on going on water rides and I don't like waterproof makeup so is it possible to bring makeup? I just don't want them to take it away when I arrive at the park.

Lexa- If you have the room in the bag you plan to bring into Disneyland, then you can absolutely bring a lightweight, waterproof jacket if you prefer. An umbrella from home is also a great choice. Or, bring a couple of ponchos from the Dollar Store in case one rips, since extras won't take up much room in a bag!

Anonymous - There is nothing on the Disneyland website saying makeup cannot be brought into the Resort. It may be a good idea to leave it at the hotel, just in case!

It's supposed to rain when I'm in Disneyland so I was wondering if there was anything that I could bring that wasn't heavy like a rain coat or an umbrella. A lot of people say to bring ponchos but they rip really easily. Is there anything else I can bring?

Can you bring in lose powder makeup?

Callie- Smaller is better when it comes to bringing backpacks on rides. There are storage pouches on many of the rides for your bag, so thing medium-sized when selecting a bag, and don't overfill it! A good tip is to put as much into velcro pockets on your person as you can, and have a few essentials in the backpack to keep it from being overfilled.

Do the backpacks permitted on rides have to be a certain size? Also can you wear them on the ride or do you have to put it under the seat in front of you?

Karina- In the past, bottle openers have sometimes been confiscated at Disneyland and Disney World. To be on the safe side, we suggest using a different style of soft-side cooler that does NOT have a bottle opener attached.

Lindsey- You are welcome to bring a candle into Disneyland, but it's more than likely an open flame, such as a lighter or a match, won't be permitted. If you're celebrating a birthday, you may want to consider a sit-down reservation and then let the staff know that it's for a birthday - they'll often bring out a sweet treat and sometimes include a candle to blow out.

Paul M. - As of 2017, guests can bring walking sticks into Disneyland. It may be up to a cast member's discretion as to whether or not it can go with you on an actual ride. Cast members may hold it for you while you ride some attractions.

Anonymous- You can bring bottled drinks into Disneyland as long as they're not bottled in glass containers.

Hi my soft side cooler has a built in bottle opener, would that be a problem? Do I need another cooler?

Can I bring a candle and lighter for a special treat on my son's birthday? We can't afford to drop $60 on a cake, but I'd like to let him blow out a candle on dessert of his choosing.

I have a temporary disability, I purchased a trail walking stick. I do not have a medical cane. Is it allowed in the park? Thank you in advanced.

Hi, I understand you can bring bottled water, do they have to be sealed not opened and are bottled coke and pepsi allowed?

Hi! You should be fine to bring markers as well as a fiberglass phone case. Some of the stores do offer phone cases for sale, but you shouldn't have a problem getting in with the case you already have. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi! Can I bring my phone that has a fiber glass case? If not can I buy a phone case at one of the stores or should I bring a new case???

Can you bring markers? I wanted to draw at the park.

Hi there! You shouldn't have a problem bringing in the birthday candle, but it's likely they won't allow the matches. If you're celebrating a birthday, you may want to consider a sit-down reservation and then let the staff know that it's for a birthday - they'll often bring out a sweet treat and sometimes include a candle to blow out.

Can I bring a small birthday candle and a stick match?

Hi there! Yes, Yeti cups are allowed. Katrina, there are several locations that offer filtered water for you to fill your water bottles with. Those include a station at Rancho del Zocalo, the Mint Julep Bar, Galactic Grill, Baby Care Centers and First Aid Centers. You can always ask for water from quick-service restaurants as well, since those are free and filtered.

Are the water fountains to refill your water bottles filtered water? Thank you

Are yeti cup allowed

Hi JC! Folding chairs are not allowed in the parks. We have seen a few people who have had canes that have a small seat attached, but it's up to the Cast Members whether they allow it or not. Hi Sandra! Yes, you are allowed to bring your makeup. Just make sure to have it in a clear container so that the Cast Members checking your bag will be able to easily identify it.

Can i bring my makeup with me ? Like makeup powder and a brush ?

with the long lines, children tend to complain. sometimes adult too. can we bring in a mini folding stool?

Hi Justin - yes! And if you forget your fan, you can even buy one there. :) Hi Rosy - yes! Umbrellas are allowed, and encouraged on rainy days! :)

Are umbrellas still allowed? Haven't been there in a minute but they used to be allowed.

Can I bring in a mini portable fan that runs on 2 AA batteries? It measures 5" H x 2.5" W x 1" D

Pennie - correct! No glass containers of any kind - even BPA free water bottles. Thanks for pointing that out.

You can't bring in Glass Water Bottles (BPA FREE)

Yes, vape pens and e-cigarettes with batteries are permitted in the parks, but they may only be used in designated smoking areas.

Hi Jill, absolutely! You can refill your reusable water bottle throughout the parks. :)

Can vape pens, e-cigarettes with battery, be brought into the park?

we have reusable aluminum water bottles, are those permitted?

Thank you

Candy - yes! Portable mini fans are allowed and encourage on warmer days! If you forget yours, you can often purchase one in the park as well.

There is not a limit on how many things you can bring, just remember that whatever you bring in, you'll have with you all day long. One backpack per person is totally reasonable and absolutely allowed. There are water stations for refilling water bottles.

Ray - yes, laptops are allowed in the park.

Can I bring a portable mini fan? Not the type that is connected to the phone but has its own separate batteries.

is there a number of things, or does it matter? Are several family backpacks allowed? Are there water fountains for refilling my water bottle? thanks for the help! we can now know what to bring!)

Can you bring a laptop into the parks?

Hi Lara, Contact solution is 100% OK. :)

Contact solution for my contact lens?

Hi there! Yes, you are able to bring your Cannon camera with you.

Can I bring a cannon camera ?

Hi Cee! You are allowed to bring a camcorder into the parks, but filming will depend on the rides. Most allow it, however the Cast Member at each attraction will direct you on whether it's allowed or not.

Can I bring a camcorder and film on the rides?

Estefany - Make up is allowed in the parks, just make sure that you have it easily accessible when they are searching your bag. If there are any large make up products, you may want to opt for clear containers that show the inside contents as well. Mel - It is up to Disney, but they usually allow monopods and stands like the Gimbal that don't extend. We would just be cautious as it will depend on the security guard. Richard - yes, battery packs to recharge your devices are fine. LeeLee - yes, umbrellas are fine to bring into the parks.

Can I bring an umbrella?

Can I bring a battery pack to charge our cell phones, it is the size of 3”x 10” and 1/2” thick?

I know selfie-sticks are on the "Can't bring" list but what about a camera Gimbal? It is a stick apparatus that helps for smooth videos but it doesn't extend like a selfie-stick.

Can I bring make up?

Hi Mcannes! According to Disney, the stroller must be less than 36" x 52" and not have the front hitch part attached (as that could be harmful to other guests walking).

Hi Mcannes! Strollers must be less than 36" x 52" and not considered harmful. In this case, your stroller would need to fit the parameters and have a removable front hitch (as that can sometimes be seen as harmful).

Can I bring my Schwinn bike trailer stroller

Hi Adie, Great question. Pepper spray is considered a "self defense item" and is not allowed.

K - Yes, Polaroid cameras are allowed. :)

Are Polaroid cameras allowed at Disneyland?

Can we bring pepper spray into the park? We are two girls (mid twenties) planning on taking an uber back and forth and want to carry pepper spray just in case for our trips. Is it considered a weapon?

Hi Alias, Yes - Disneyland has offers available for purchase. Sizes and prices vary, but you can find the most up-to-date information here: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/locker-rentals/

Are there lockers to use at the park? If so how big and how much money

Hi there! Yes, chips and candy along with other snacks can all be brought into the park. Just make sure they're easily accessible in your bag to make it easier on the Cast Members that check your bag during security.

Can I take chips and candy

Hi Rhonda, you sure can! Many families like to bring their own glow sticks and merchandise for nighttime. :)

Can you bring GLO STICK?

Hi there! We haven't tried bringing a hydro flask into the park recently, but know guests who were allowed to do so during September and December 2017 trips. You may want to contact Disney directly to see if any rules have been updated about hydro flasks.

As for hard coolers, those are any coolers where the sides are made out of hard plastic versus the smaller ones made out of the fabric material. For exact sizes and more information, you can check out Disney's guidelines at: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/parks/permitted-items/

What do hard coolers mean? Does size matter when it comes to coolers?

I was recently told hydro flasks were now restricted. A person who just went couldn't take the it's in. Any input?

Disneyland permits all snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to be brought into their parks as long as there are no glass containers or excessively large coolers.

My friend was telling me that when they went they where not permitted to bring in Cheetos. So my question is was specific snacks can i bring to the park and can i bring in energy drinks?

Hi there! As long as the security can see what is in the hydration portion of the backpack, you shouldn't have a problem. Snacks and sunscreen are also allowed. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Can you bring in a camal pack ( hydration backpack) with snacks and sunscreen?

Anonymous - Yes! A hyrdoflask is one of our favorite things to bring to the parks. It's so nice to keep your water cold all day long.

Can you bring in a hydroflask of water?

Hi Beth, Disney doesn't have any restrictions on water bladders. :)

Can you bring a water bladder in you backpack.

Hey there! Disneyland currently states that any item that could cause disruption is not permitted, so we'd err on the side of caution and probably leave it at home. Please let us know if you have any other questions. :)

can you bring in a bose speaker like a medium sized speaker?

You can't bring in gum.

You also can no longer bring in a bubble gun- even the kind they used to sell inside the parks. Now only the bubble wands are allowed. My 3 girls just had theirs confiscated at security checkpoint last trip! ????
