The Disneyland® Railroad was closed for an extended period of time to accommodate the Star Wars Land expansion and reopened in July 2017 with an upgraded and updated track. The New Orleans Square train station is an incredibly popular place to catch the train. From there you'll ride through pre-historic times and even through Splash Mountain. It is such a classic Disneyland® experience.
The Haunted Mansion transforms into Haunted Mansion Holiday when Halloween Time at the Disneyland® Resort begins. This typically occurs the second week in September. Here Christmas and Halloween collide as Jack Skellington and his crew take over. This popular overlay lasts through the entire Halloween Time celebration at Disneyland® and continues through Holidays at the Disneyland® Resort, which normally conclude the first week in January. The attraction features a completely immersive Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas theme and a larger than life gingerbread house each year. Haunted Mansion normally closes for a few weeks in late August/early September and early-mid January to accommodate the switch.
The Blue Bayou is the only restaurant located inside an attraction at Disneyland®. Here you will find the ambiance and flavors of the South. Reservations are required on most days and can be made up to 60 days in advance. You can often request a table on the water, although you may need to wait a little bit longer to be accommodated. The Blue Bayou is one of the restaurants that regularly offers dining packages for whatever the current nighttime entertainment is. The dining packages are a great way to get a taste of what the Blue Bayou has to offer and enjoy premium viewing for a show later that night. Dining package information can be found on Disneyland.com or on the official Disneyland® app.
The Blue Bayou isn't the only place you'll find the flavors of New Orleans. Café Orleans has many of the same menu items as the Blue Bayou. It doesn't have quite the same atmosphere, but the ambiance is great and the prices are lower than you'll find at the Blue Bayou. If you're looking for a quick snack, The Mint Julep Bar serves non-alcoholic beverages and popular Mickey beignets. While the classic beignets are available year-round, the quick service location also offers seasonal flavors. They have had pumpkin, butterscotch, peppermint and lemon depending on the season.
