Cars Land
You’ll feel like you’ve walked right into the movie Cars as you step into the town of Radiator Springs. It is one of the most immersive lands at the Disneyland® Resort and the details are incredible. You'll find attractions, dining, characters, shopping and entertainment that will rev your engines.
Here is an overview of the rides that await your pit crew at Cars Land:
Cars Land Attractions:
Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters
This attraction is great for the whole family, as long as each rider meets the 32” height requirement. Luigi’s cousins come to visit and will take you on a swirling ride on one of the first trackless rides in the United States. Each ride is set to a different song and is tons of fun.
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree
Everyone’s favorite Tow Truck will lead you on a whirling square dance aboard a baby tractor. From the outside it looks pretty tame, but when you’re actually on the ride, it really whips you around. It is truckloads of fun. Riders must be 32” tall, and rider switch is available if someone in your party isn’t tall enough to ride.
Radiator Springs Racers
Radiator Springs Racers is one of the most popular attractions in Disney California Adventure® Park, and with good reason. While on the attraction, you’ll take a leisurely drive through Ornament Valley before hitting the road in a race to the finish line.
Guests race to ride and grab a FastPass for Radiator Springs Racers as soon as the park opens. It is one attraction you will not want to miss, so be sure to grab a FastPass in the morning before they’re gone. On busier days, FastPasses for this attraction have been known to run out by mid-morning. Radiator Springs Racers has a 40” height requirement, so if you have kids who aren’t able to ride, you can utilize the rider switch option. Just ask the Cast Member to scan your tickets before you ride.
Cars Land Entertainment:
Character Meet and Greets
You can meet the residents of Radiator Springs right in Cars Land! Lightning McQueen and Mater regularly rotate to meet guests in front of the Cozy Cone Motel. If you don’t want to wait in line to meet them, rest assured if you spend enough time in Cars Land, you’ll see them driving around. On special occasions you may even be able to see Red the Firetruck and Cruz Ramirez.
Nightly Neon Lighting of Radiator Springs
Each night at sunset the town has an unofficial ceremony just like in the film, Cars. The town becomes illuminated with neon lights to the song, "Sh-Boom.”. If you’re not sure when that will be, just hop on your smart phone and look for the official sunset time. It is quite a sight to watch the entire street come to life in neon. And you may find yourself tapping your toes right along with the catchy tune!
Cars Land Dining:
Cozy Cone Motel
The Cozy Cone Motel is more like five snack stops in one. Each of the cones offers a different snack or drink, so pay attention to which cone you visit. Menu items are posted outside each cone and on the Disneyland® app. You’ll find churros with dipping sauce, soft serve ice cream “cones,” Cone-Queso options with seasonal menu items, Cone-Coctions like pretzel bites and frozen drinks, and finally, Popcone with specialty flavors dill pickle, buffalo ranch and sriracha.
Fillmore's Taste-In
If you’re looking for something quick, and maybe even healthy, Fillmore’s Taste-In is a sure bet. You’ll find fresh fruit, pickles, cheese, trail mix, drinks and chips.
Flo's V-8 Cafe
Flo’s V-8 Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants in all of the Disneyland® Resort. Not only is the food delicious, the atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve traveled to the 1950s version of Route 66. You’ll enjoy comfort classics like fried chicken, cheeseburgers and milkshakes while listening to peppy oldies. You can choose to dine inside or al fresco with views of Cadillac Mountain Range. And best yet, you can mobile order at Flo’s to make the most of your time in Cars Land.
Ramone's Serve-Ice Station
The newest offerings in Cars Land can be found at Ramone’s Serve-Ice Station, a small drink stand tucked right outside the entrance to the Radiator Springs Racers queue. You’ll find slushies that are just as flavorful as they are colorful. The refreshing icy drinks are topped with unique goodies like Nerds candies, boba and dinosaur gummies. They’re super sugary, and perfect to grab on a warm day, especially before getting in line for Radiator Springs Racers.
Cars Land Shopping:
Radiator Springs Curios
Living up to its name, Radiator Springs Curios has just about any Cars item you could imagine. It’s a prime spot to shop for collectibles, pins, accessories and any other souvenir to remind you of all of the fun you had in Cars Land.
Ramone's House of Body Art
You’ll find apparel to help you dress your best in Cars Land at Ramone’s House of Body Art. You can dress like a resident of Radiator Springs, or sport your favorite Cars character on a t-shirt. The outside of the shop is decorated with Ramone’s customized racing hoods. If you look closely, you may even find a Hidden Mickey.
Sarge's Surplus Hut
All of your theme park basic necessities and then some can be found at Sarge’s Surplus Hut. Sunscreen, snacks, toys, apparel and even Mickey Ears are all available for purchase.
Cars Land Seasonal Celebrations
Halloween Time
During Halloween Time, the town of Radiator Springs becomes Radiator Screams. Not only will you find not-so-spooky Cars inspired decor throughout the land, the attractions also get a Halloween makeover. Luigi's Rollickin’ Roadsters becomes Luigi’s Honkin' Haul-O-Ween and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree. Seasonal treats are available and the Cars characters can be found in their Halloween costumes. Halloween Time officially begins the beginning to mid-September and continues through Halloween night.
Holidays at the Disneyland® Resort
Cars Land completely transforms for Holidays at the Disneyland® Resort. Tires become wreaths, traffic cones become Christmas trees and the Cadillac Mountain Range is illuminated with red and green lights at night. Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree also get decked out for the occasion. With a little decor and festive music, they’re transformed into Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. A visit to Cars Land is the perfect way to celebrate the holidays, which generally happen mid-November through early January each year.
Cars Land Tips:
Cars Land is one area that you'll want to be sure to visit during the day and then again at night. It is a completely different experience in the daylight vs. when the neon lights come on after the sun sets, so make sure you plan enough time to see it both ways. If you can, try to ride Radiator Springs Racers at least twice; once in daylight and once after nightfall. The views are different and even though it’s not so, it feels like you go faster in the dark.
Consider staying at one of the three Disneyland® Resort Hotels if you’d like to enjoy some early mornings in Cars Land. By staying on-property, you’ll be able to get into Disney California Adventure® Park an hour before it opens to the public on select days. That early access includes Cars Land and is a perfect time to ride the attractions and grab a FastPass for Radiator Springs Racers.
Fastpasses for Radiator Springs Racers can go quickly, but they’re not the only way to fast track your way to the front of the line. If everyone in your party is over 7-years old, you can take advantage of the Single Rider Line. You’ll enter the Single Rider Line and wait with your party to get on the attraction. When you get to the front, you’ll be seated with another party. Oftentimes, you may even end up in the same car, just a different row.
