Our family loved it!
Nicole Foss. on 09/29/2024
Guest Rating

We loved the Disneyland hotel! The pool was nice and the location was close to the main entrance. It’s a lot of money to spend on a hotel but it was a very memorable experience. The staff were all wonderful and so friendly. The room was clean and big for our family.

The only thing I would say I didn’t like about the hotel is there hot water for shower only lasted for one person. But overall the experience was amazing for my sons first time there

A fun addition to the trip
Connor Shakespeare. on 05/15/2024

We go to Disneyland twice a year and this time decided to try the Disneyland Hotel over our favorite Courtyard Marriott Theme park Entrance hotel. Was it worth the additional $350 a night, we didn’t think so. We thought getting the extra 30 minutes of early entry would be awesome but it’s to bad they changed it from 1 hour extra, because they don’t open the security gates until 7:00am so a line forms at security that really wouldn’t if they would open security at 6:45am. Also Disneyland doesn’t do the delivery service anymore to your room if you buy something at park. We did love seeing the Disney characters in the hotel that was a highlight and also staying on a Disney property keeps the Disney feel your entire stay. Comparing to the Courtyard Marriott the rooms and bathrooms are smaller. Will I stay there again Yes but my next several trips will be staying at our favorite hotel The Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance.

So many reasons to stay here!
Molly Belvo. on 03/06/2024

We loved the Disneyland Hotel. It's expensive, but there were so many reasons we'd do it again: early entry to the park, the proximity to the monorail for easy in/out access during the day, the fun pool, super comfy beds (so important after a long day on our feet), tasty on site restaurants, and guest services were so great and helpful.

Beds were comfortable, music and lights on wall were really neat. Bathroom was small, room could have used a little more tlc from a cleaning standpoint considering the price of a Disney hotel. We appreciated that the hotel was close as well as the early park entrance.

The Disneyland Hotel is pricey BUT for us it is always worth it. You get to stay in the Disney bubble and you’re paying for the convenience and ongoing magic. We ate at the Tangaroa Terrace every night which is right outside the towers and we always got to pay with our VISA Disney points, so it felt all inclusive. Easy access to walking to both parks or taking the monorail. The area feels secure which is great. You also get the Magic Morning minutes which helps the cost of the hotel feel even more worth it! Rooms are cozy and beds were comfortable. There’s nothing that beats staying at the original hotel.

Our visit started our great. We stayed club level and were escorted by two lovely cast members, first to our room and then up to the E Ticket lounge. The view is amazing and there are all you can eat snacks, a fridge full of soda and juice, plus staff on hand to make you fancy coffee, mimosas, and bring you beer and wine. The room was spacious and clean. The Disney touches were all really cute - Mickey hands holding lights, the light up headboard, hidden Mickey’s in the carpet and lamp shades. Floor to ceiling window overlooking the pool. There is not much storage. The dresser was small (3 drawers) and the drawers would not stay shut. I left generous tips for Mousekeeping, but should not have. They made the beds every day and emptied the trash, but that was all. Towels were left in the bathroom. We had some extra trash (drink holder, empty cups) that didn’t fit in the trash. We left them nearly stacked on the dresser by the garbage can, but they were not cleaned away. The room had 2 bottles of water. We asked for another one as there were 3 of us in the room. Both Mousekeeping and the front desk told us they cannot do that and advised us to refill the 2 bottles we had as needed. I rented a pool cabana. I was quoted $424 when I rented exactly 60 days out, but I was charged $575. I was not notified that there was a change in price. It was a surprise when I checked my bank account. Not cool. The construction noise from the new building was very loud at the pool, and they were testing fire alarms all day long. No much anticipated pool side nap for me. The cabana rental did include a lovely fruit platter, 4 bottles of regular water, and 4 bottles of sparkling water. There were also chilled towels in the fridge and robes in the cabinet. Leaving the park to go back to the hotel was a park - never leaving the Disney bubble is an amazing feeling. We walked 2 days and took the monorail one day for early entry. The line gets long, but moves fast. One day we overslept a little and didn’t leave our room until 7:10. We walked right through security and hopped on the monorail. Landed in Tomorrowland at 7:29. We took the monorail back every night to save our feet - it runs until midnight. Overall, I am glad I crossed this off of my bucket list, but the service was not on or with the price I paid, unfortunately.

Going into my stay I did not know what to expect. I heard from previous reviews from other guests that rooms were sometimes dirty or not to their standards. I actually had a great stay at the hotel and the maid plus guest services were all welcoming and helpful. I would give the hotel a five star rating for its hospitality. Everything about the hotel was great including the room, proximity to the parks and downtown disney, monorail closeby to go into Disneyland Park itself, and especially the 3o minute early entry rule to allow hotel guests to go inside the parks this earlier and outside guests. That was very helpful to steer my day around each park earlier. Thank you for a great stay Disneyland Hotel.

Cons: After an 8 hour car ride, my room wasn't ready. I arrived at 2:30, check-in is at 3. I arrived with family and their room was ready. I was then told check in time is between 3-5:30. No one notified me my room was ready. I had to follow up and was told my room was ready for nearly an hour. In the meantime I missed time with my family at the parks. The shower runs hot and cold in seconds, I did get burned enough where my skin was red. Monorail was down which is a major perk of booking a disney hotel. Walls are paper thin. All of the water filters were out of service so we couldn't refill water bottles in the hotel. No microwave. Pros: Comfortable bed, good shower head pressure, maintenance was nice. This was my first time staying at the DL hotel and probablyny last. It is was overpriced for the services i received. I will stay at the CA Grand next time.

The room did not have a fridge for treats we brought back from park or drinking water! We heard on the last day that we could have had our purchases brought to our room and we walked back to the room twice to drop of merchandise which added 4 miles to our day! I have stayed at other hotels around the park and quite frankly had better service. This was a dream of my daughters and it was disappointing that we saved up to do this trip and unfortunately we were disappointed.

The Disneyland Hotel was amazing! We stayed 7/5-7/9. So much attention to detail. My girls absolutely loved the firework bedrest. Rooms are super clean and Bed's were so comfy and with great views. We stayed in a 2 Queen and a Day Bed which fit perfectly for us. We were 2 Adults, 2 Teens and a 9 yr old. We stayed in the Adventure Tower and it was awesome and close to the pool entrance & downtown disney entrance. Yes there is construction going on but you cant really hear it in the room. You can hear it at the pool but we were having so much fun that it didn't bother us at all. Self Parking isn't that far at all and you have in and out privileges. Food onsite was super yummy and the Coffee Shop was great for a quick coffee and breakfast munch. Tangora was yummy but go early for breakfast because they run out of the pancakes super quick. Trader Sams onsite has a cool vibe and the Hotel had so many fun activities like a Pool Party with characters & ukulele lessons.

The customer service is always quality. The rooms are maintained and are fairly comfortable. A few warnings for families: 1 - the pool and spa have limited seating close to the pool where you can sit and lifeguard your kids in the pool. Also both are closed by 8pm. 2- we were able to put our family of five in a standard room however there wasn’t a lot of room for moving around which honestly doesn’t matter that much since the majority of the stay you are in the parks. 3- from about 6:30 AM until 7:30 AM, you can hear the very loud toilet flushing noises throughout the hotel. It’s kind of funny but also annoying if you’re trying to get a little extra sleep before a full day at the parks.

The hotel is very convenient. It's nice to walk from your room straight into the park- especially with toddlers. However, aside from this one convenience everything else seems dated and in need of an upgrade for the price. The sink had a terrible sour smell each time you ran the water. Definitely not pleasant when washing your hands and especially not when brushing your teeth. Also, I did have to re-wipe things down when we first arrived. It seems as if they rushed in cleaning. Still, these complaints though valid pale in comparison to our overall vacation experience.

Obviously the Disney hotels are pricey. And unfortunately we didn't get to utilize all of the perks of staying at one because we ran out of time and energy because the parks were so much fun. But the value is there and the rooms were perfect. The only issues we ran into involved the tech in our room. One was that a few of the outlets available were broken and so charginh our electronics was a bit of a conundrum. There was no outlets near the beds which was not ideal to us. And the second was the phone. The "front desk" button was disconnected or broken and so I had to dial the desk by looking up the number or calling on my cell phone. Overall these were minor inconveniences that only bugged us due to the price we were paying. The staff were all very kind and accommodating and the room service was perfect after long nights out.

We had stayed at the Disney hotel in the Fantasy Tower twice in the past and loved our rooms. This time we were not told when our room was ready. When we left the park and went back because we were concerned about not having heard, we found out a room was ready at a different tower. When we got over there, our keys would not work. I called the front desk and they said our lock was apparently broken and they would send someone to fix it within half an hour. We were left standing for 35 minutes when I called again and apparently the person I spoke to the first time did not report the problem. I was tired and angry and told the lady such. Some person who works at the hotel came in and my husband asked if he was maintenance. He was not so we told him our problem. Finally a manager came over and we told him what was happening and that we were upset. He went and got 2 new keys and said it was not the lock after all. Very frustrating. We asked for a King room and got 2 queen size beds instead. I am 70 years old and have some lung problems and this extra distance took a toll on me physically when walking to the parks, etc. Very disappointing this trip.

This was our first time staying at a Disney resort and we loved it! We loved the magical headboard and all the disney touches! The room was very spacious for the four of us that traveled. We loved that we were on Disney property and very close to Disneyland and California Adventures. The staff was AMAZING and very friendly, check in was quick and painless, my kids also loved all the Disney channels and RadioDisney on the the TV. The cell phone reception was not the best but the wifi was very fast (my kids were impressed) The beds were a surprise I thought they would be a little more comfortable but it was good for the time we stayed. The reason I gave 3 stars for value is we didn't get to use all the amentites (the pools mainly) We all really wanted to go swimming we just didn't have the time the pool opened late and closed early, and we were in the park most of the day. We weren't in our room a whole lot, the parks were very busy the time we were there so there were long waits and we didn't want to miss any time we did have to ride our favorite attractions. There was no water in our room and if there was i'm sure it would have been a pretty penny, my kids were surprised the vending machines were so expensive. Upside our room did have a small refridgerator so we just went to Target and bought snacks and drinks so we didn't have to use the vending machines. Overall our stay was GREAT!! My recommendation is use a day to just relax in the room, go to the pool and really take advantage of the all things disney at the resort!! We would really love to stay here again!! On our way home we already started planning our next trip! :)

3 for value but amazing experience!!

I am giving this hotel a 3 for value.....this should come as no surprise as you pay for the brand. Here are my complaints, we'll get them out of the way....Food prices are through the roof. There are tea packets in your room and instant coffee but thats all the complimentary anything you will receive. If you want coffee you must purchase it. There is a cafe in the main lobby, accessible easily, expect to pay starbucks prices, coffee is good. There is a bar located poolside and poolside service, I didn't pay less than 8$ for a drink, completely expected it. There is absolutely no complimentary breakfast so don't expect it. The next issue with this hotel is the location. The monorail is right outside the hotel and will take you straight into Tomorrowland but if your destination isn't Disneyland be prepared to walk through downtown Disney which is an outdoor mall, open to the public, about a mile long. The walk took my husband, me, two teens, and a 6 year old 9-12 minutes depending on our mood and traffic. It's approximately 1 mile from the downtown Disney entrance to the main entrance of Disney land. In my book, not that big of deal. We still had the monorail and DD was fun to stroll through and grab expensive churros. Some may not be able to make the walk. Now for all the fun stuff. The staff was OVERWHELMINGLY wonderful! We traveled 10 hours all night to get there and ended up getting in at 5am. We didn't expect such an early arrival. Check in isn't until 4pm. They took our bags to hold and since we were staying at the hotel we were able to enjoy "Magic Mornings". This meant that guests of the hotel get to enter the park one hour prior to the park opening (you'll get right on the rides!). We waiting about an hour once everything was said and done and then park opened for us at 8. Our rooms were actually ready for us a little after noon. They allowed us an early check in, no problem, no fees. They were kind and happy to do it. Such wonderful service I was so relieved. The room was spectacular. There were 5 of us, 2 teen girls and 1 year old boy, my husband and I. We always get 1 room, 2 queen size beds. The 3 kids have always shared but they offer a pull out bed/couch bed. We were nervous as we haven't stayed in a hotel for a couple years and the kids were all smaller then. We all fit in the room so comfortably. I am so happy that I didn't get a second room. Considering the time we actually spent in the room, and the space we had to sleep, relax, shower, get ready, and throw our stuff around, there was no need for it. If we had another 6 year old kid with us honestly, they would have fit on that couch bed with our son. It was very well equipped to handle our family. Everything was perfectly clean and bright and fresh in our room and our second evening housekeeping came around to ask if we needed anything (they may have come night 1 and 3 but we were out partying and DLAND!). I was unsure about staying in this hotel and spending all this money on a brand name just to be disappointed but went ahead and did it because I am the only member of my family who has ever been to disneyland and we always low budgeted it as a kid and wanted to make this super special for everyone and I am so pleased that I did. So pleased that I would go as far to say that I would stay there again. I may not go all out and allow myself an unlimited bar and food tab, i wopuld prep a little better there and probably bring my own tea packets or a french press but my oh my.....we loved being here.

We would stay here again with young kids, but as they get older, we'd probably rather stay at the Grand.
