Everything was great

Although the hotel was undergoing construction, the clerk at check-in placed us in a room where we wouldn't hear much noise. That was a very thoughtful gesture. The room was immaculate and well put together. If I ever had a problem with anything, it was quickly taken care of. My first order for room service was cold but I ordered again the next day and everything was perfect.

Great staff but some issues

I booked through Getaway today and then verified with the hotel they had the reservation for 2 rooms and that we were a family and I was told we would be side by side or in connecting rooms. We arrived and I was told we would either be on different floors or on the same floor but 10 rooms apart. I mentioned the notification about our rooms and was told to blame the travel agency for not forwarding it. I was then told I should call the hotel directly. I let him know that I did and verified the rooms would be together. He found the note and apologized, but due to a large conference there was nothing he could do. I was comped the parking fee for the inconvenience. We were on the 3rd floor of the Lanai wing and 6 doors apart. To get to the horseshoe Lanai wing, you have to go through the lounge or restaurant to reach the hallway. This was difficult with it being packed and servers going back and forth due to the convention guests. Very poor layout. The hotel is older and the rooms do show some wear. Our shower door did not seal, so water leaked. Windows are not dual paned and hearing the freeway is fine,, but the garbage truck and loud mufflers was another thing all together.. We tried to eat at the restaurant, but due to the convention guests were unable to do so. Even those that were no longer eating, were not asked to move to the lounge or bar area, so diners could dine. However, we did get a menu from the concierge for Renos Pizzaria and they were great. The staff at the hotel is very good, helpful and friendly. The hotel has an excellent shuttle service. They state they have laundry service which to families usually means a place to do laundry. They do not. It is dry clean and takes 3 days. The gift shop has amenities if you forgot something, or need a snack, but is very expensive compared to other hotels I have stayed at.

I would recommend but few things to keep in mind

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely small, it was an obstacle to try and find space for our bags. Seems like they gave more room for the bathroom then the actual room. The free shuttle service to universal studios and citywalk was convenient but they only had one shuttle that went to two hotels. So there was a wait for the shuttle, depending on how busy it was you could be waiting for a good 30 to 45 mins. You had to pay for parking, so make sure you check with the front on how you pay. We did run into an issue where the people next door to us played music outside their room in the evening until 11pm. I think some people did complain, because the next night they didn’t play their music as long. The cleaning staff did clean our room which was nice. I would recommend but just keep in mind, the rooms are very small, you have to pay for parking, breakfast, and whatever else. The shuttle is free but their is a wait.

Friendly staff, small rooms

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very small. Bathrooms were bigger than the bedroom. Made it a bit difficult to find areas to place our bags. Even the closet was very small. Drawers were small, probably fit about ten or twelve socks. But we made it work. The people next door to us.. must have forgotten or maybe just are selfish individuals, they did not consider other people trying to sleep around them. They had their music on loud until 11pm the first night. I think someone complained on them to turn their music down. The second night they didn’t play it as late, but still annoying after a full day at the park and trying to get some rest. The hotel offered free shuttle to universal studios and city walk. It did help out but the only down fall was they only had one shuttle that went to two hotels. So if it’s a busy day, you could end up waiting for 30 to 45 mins. Parking you have to pay for, no free breakfast., which we already knew. I would recommend, but just keep in mind the rooms are tiny.

Some issues, but good location

I always wanted to try this hotel because of its location, but I wasn't impressed. The room was small. The fridge and rain shower didn't work. We're didn't notify anyone about this because we weren't in the room much and wanted to make the most of our short vacation rather than be on the phone. I'm also a Bonvoy member but I didn't feel like I got any value from that. Parking is $33 a night.

This hotel was fantastic! We went to Universal Studios one of the days while we were there. The staff was so helpful in giving us directions and assisting us getting to anywhere we need to go. The hotel was great as well! We had a comfortable sleep each night and always had exactly what we needed.

We loved our stay here, we got a great night's sleep and felt refreshed and ready to play each morning. The beds were so comfortable and we were so well taken care of, we didn't have any worries and were able to relax and enjoy our stay. The location was great as well, we were central to everything and didn't have any problems getting around. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Our room was absolutely perfect. The beds were amazing and incredibly comfortable. We asked the front desk and they told us what kind of bedding they use, but I can't remember... sorry. The shower was also incredible, the rain fall shower head was a dream. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is great! The rooms were up to date, we enjoyed exploring the hotel and loved the pool. It was an easy walk to Universal Studios but they also offered a free shuttle, which we use on our second day at the park. Everything about our stay was great, the beds felt as if they were brand new and we slept better here than anywhere else we've stayed!

Convenient and comfortable

My family stayed here for a quick trip to Universal Studios. We loved how close it was. We walked to Universal in the morning and it was a steep hill, so when we went back to City Walk later that night we took the free shuttle that the hotel offered. That was a lot easier. The room was a little small, but it was really comfortable and we weren't in the room much anyway. The staff was all really nice. Also, our room had a view of the pool, which looked really nice, we just didn't have time to use it.
