Do you love Beauty and the Beast as much as we do here at Get Away Today? We came up with all the best ideas to throw your very own Beauty and The Beast Themed Party. These ideas would be perfect for a birthday, Valentine’s Day, or a great way to announce your surprise Disney vacation to your kids!
Grey Stuff Recipe
No Beauty and the Beast party is complete without this signature dish! You won't have to ask the dishes about this one - everyone agrees that this recipe is absolutely delicious. The best part is that it's easy to make and can be used for both large and small groups.
Here's what you need:
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding
1.5 cups milk
15 Oreos
1 (8 oz) tub of Cool Whip
2 TB instant chocolate pudding
Shortbread Cookies
Sprinkles (optional)
First, you'll combine the vanilla pudding and milk. We quadrupled the recipe for our office, so don't worry if yours looks much smaller! Once you've whisked the pudding and milk together, chill it for 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
While the vanilla pudding and milk is chilling, use a food processor to blend the Oreos into fine crumbs. You won't want to leave big pieces - especially if you are planning on frosting the Grey Stuff onto cookies.
Now that the pudding and milk is chilled, fold in the Cool Whip, Oreos and chocolate pudding. Make sure it is well combined before putting the Grey Stuff back in the fridge to chill for an hour.
After it's been chilled, you can pour it into a piping bag to pipe onto your favorite cookie or brownie. If you don't have a piping bag, don't worry! As you can see, a Ziploc bag with a corner cut works just fine. Once you've piped the Grey Stuff onto your treat, you can top with glitter or pearl sprinkles. Your Beauty and the Beast party guests are sure to think the Grey Stuff is delicious.
Strawberry Roses
As many rose themed items as possible are a necessity at a Beauty and the Beast party. On top of using roses and petals for decorations, we used strawberries to create rose-shaped food!
Here's what you'll need to create your own strawberry roses:
Strawberries
Skewers
Paring Knife
While this fun food art is easy, we recommend adults take charge due to the knife. Start by holding a strawberry in your hand and begin by making a small diagonal cut to the side of the tip of the rose. Now, alternate each side of the strawberry that you are making cuts on. The cuts should form around the center of the strawberry, imitating rose petals.
Make sure that each time you cut into the strawberry you turn your knife slightly. It will help the "petals" stick out and make the rose shape more realistic. Once you're satisfied with your petals, slide the strawberry onto a skewer. Voila! Your strawberry rose is complete. Repeat as many times as you need to make the perfect sized bouquet for your Beauty and the Beast party.
Make Your Own Chip
Your little ones will love this Beauty and the Beast party activity. Make your very own Chip mug and have more fun doing it!
Here's what you will need to make your own Chip:
White Mug or Tea Cup
Gold Sharpie Marker
Pink, blue, purple and black Sharpie markers
Begin with a white mug or teacup. We recommend also pulling up a picture of Chip to have something to reference while creating your masterpiece.
Start by coloring the handle gold. Next, color gold along the top as well as two lines of gold on the bottom. Make sure to leave enough room between the gold lines on the bottom for the pink and blue half-circles. Begin coloring the pink and blue half-circles before adding the purple in the space left over.
Lastly, add Chip's face. You can also draw a chip with the black Sharpie, but we left it out for ours. To make the design permanent, simply bake your mug in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remember to put the mug in before the oven is heated all the way and not take it out until the oven is completely cooled. That way, you won't risk any actual cracks to your Chip mug!
Decorations
For our Beauty and the Beast party, we used a variety of decorations to complete our centerpiece table. Blue and yellow were our main color focus. We also put a large rose in an upside down vase to represent the Beast's rose. It was so simple, but looks so great!
Things like old clocks, candlesticks and teacups were a great finish to the main table. We had another table set up with old books and a book-page runner. Simply tape old book pages together and display along the center of the table to recreate the book-page runner. Don't forget rose petals and the soundtrack - both add the perfect touch to a Beauty and the Beast party!
Our office had such a great time at the Beauty and the Beast party and we hope it gave you some ideas.
