Best Desserts to Try at Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is what many refer to as the “castle park.” Inside this park you’ll not only find the stunning Cinderella Castle, but many classic attractions like the Haunted Mansion, the Pirates of the Caribbean, "it’s a small world", the Jungle Cruise and more.
We love spending at least one day dedicated to Magic Kingdom on our Walt Disney World vacations and allowing plenty of time for eats and treats. You can find our overall best places to eat at Magic Kingdom here and then top it off with Get Away Today’s staff favorites below.
- Frozen Coke and Cream cheese filled pretzel are the perfect pair! You can find both at The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland (we had multiple votes for this exact combination!).
- Try the classic Dole Whip or Tropical Serenade with Pineapple-Orange-Guava Juice, Coconut Soft-serve, and an Upside-down Pineapple Cake Pop at Aloha Isle in Adventureland.
- Warm Cinnamon Roll from Gaston's Tavern in Fantasyland these giant, warm Cinnamon Rolls are the way to go!
- “Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich at Sleepy Hollow. I love fruit and Nutella! Combine them together and what do you get? A Yummy waffle that you eat like a taco with fruit and nutella. Great way to start the day!” -Brooke B.
- Ice Cream Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, U.S.A.
- The Diamond Horseshoe is an all you care to eat experience in Liberty Square, and we suggest you eat dessert first because the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake with Vanilla Toffee Cake, Chocolate Sauce, and Vanilla Ice Cream is an all-time favorite!
Delicious Desserts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom is the perfect balance between breathtaking safaris, magnificent Broadway caliber shows and thrill rides and adventures. Disney’s Animal Kingdom not only shows you, but allows you to actually experience the natural beauty of the world.
And after a day watching exotic animals in their natural environment it’s only right to refuel your family on some of the best places to eat at Animal Kingdom and of course, add a dessert or two to the mix.
- “Night Blossom Beverage at Pongu Pongu in Pandora - The World of Avatar. Nothing like riding the Avatar Flight of Passage and finding this beverage at the ride's exit. So refreshing!” -Brooke B.
- Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse at Satu'li Canteen in Pandora - The World of Avatar.
- Pongu Lumpia from Pongo Pongu. This deep fried spring roll filled with pineapple and cream cheese hits the spot!
Best Desserts to Try at EPCOT
EPCOT is full of culture, thrills and everything in between. It’s often voted as one of the favorites at Walt Disney World. Perhaps a lot of that has to do with the huge foodie culture and multiple festivals that happen year-round—the menus are always changing!
If you’re a foodie, you might even dedicate 2 days or more to EPCOT alone. We’ve gathered a list of the best places to eat at EPCOT but remember that doesn’t even include the ever changing seasonal menus for festivals. There’s a lot to try so bring your appetite and save room for these dessert favorites!
- Kakigōri which is Japanese Shaved Ice available in a variety of flavors available at Kabuki Cafe World Showcase.
- Baumkuchen Cake at Connections Eatery Starbucks which is made on premises. Tami H. adds, “It was a holiday treat that they continue to make. It is the modern-day tree cake that originated in Germany. Comes in regular or dipped in chocolate.”
- There are two must-haves from Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe at World Showcase. We recommend School Bread which is a Sweet Roll filled with Custard and dipped in Coconut and Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie.
Delicious Desserts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At Hollywood Studios you'll jump straight into the action of some of your favorite movies—and we’re giving you permission to jump straight into dessert too. Everything from thrilling adventure rides to action packed entertainment to delicious and one-of-a-kind eateries, it’s all right here.
- Jack Jack's Num Num Cookie at the Market in Hollywood Studios served warm with tons of gooey milk chocolate chips
- Wookiee Cookie at the Backlot Express it’s a sweet cookie that looks like Chewbacca from Star Wars!
- Frozen Coke at The ROCK Station next to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster it’s the perfect drink to keep you cool on a hot day.
- A Brown Derby Original you have to try the tangy Grapefruit Cake. It’s a Vanilla Sponge Cake with Grapefruit Syrup andCream Cheese Icing.
Best Desserts to Try at Disney Springs
Don’t skip out on Disney Springs, it offers a whole day or more of exploration itself. And since you don’t need theme park admission it is the perfect way to explore and eat a sweet treat on arrival or departure day.
- Midnight Reverie Sundae at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop.
- Anything from adventurous to classic at Salt and Straw Ice Cream.
- One of each at Gideon’s Bakehouse.
Delicious Desserts at Disney’s Resort Hotels
Staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel has so many perks like Early Theme Park Entry, free and easy transportation around the resort, amazing swimming pools and onsite magic.
There are also some delectable desserts you can try even if you’re not staying at that particular property. Dessert date night out? Family fun treat pit stop? We’re in! Here’s a list of our staff favorites.
- The Kitchen Sink offers plenty of sweetness to share from Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. It’s 8 scoops of ice cream smothered in every topping available. If the Kitchen Sink is a bit much, you’ll be delighted to see they also have all your childhood (and new) favorites like the Snickers Sundae and the No Way José—a delectable creation with ice cream, peanut butter and hot fudge.
- Mickey shaped Beignets at Scat Cat's Club—Cafe at Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.
- Ohana Bread Pudding at Polynesian Resort Hotel’s Ohana (we had multiple votes for this one!).
- When you’re in the mood for a simple, yet decadent chocolate cake head to Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
