We love Disneyland history and looking back at memories over the years. This article is no longer being updated, but is a great way to look back and see what was happening at Disneyland when this was originally published.
After more than 20 years away, the Main Street Electrical Parade has made its way home to Disneyland for a limited time engagement. The parade is running nightly now through June 18, 2017, and it is hugely popular. UPDATE: the parade has been extended to run through August 20, 2017.
You could camp out for a premium spot a few hours before the parade begins. Or, you could opt for one of the Disneyland Electrical Parade dinner packages that are available and get a reserved spot. Here's what you need to know:
Disneyland Electrical Parade Dinner Packages at the Blue Bayou
For a truly deluxe and unique evening, book the Disneyland Electrical Parade dinner at the Blue Bayou. Adults will order from a delicious three-course prix-fixe menu with some of the classic restaurant's most popular items. Appetizer options include gumbo, shrimp or salad. Entree choices include everything from jambalaya to seafood and steak. Dessert offers four sweet options as well.
Kids have their own menu with fresh veggies as an appetizer and kid friendly entree choices like mac' n cheese. Children also get their choice of beverage (milk, water or juice) and chocolate cake for dessert.
After your meal, you'll each receive a ticket for reserved viewing of the parade on Main Street U.S.A. You'll want to get to the parade approximately 45 minutes to an hour prior to when the parade starts. It certainly beats waiting on Main Street for hours - and the view is pretty great!
These tickets are from the Paint the Night parade, but the Main Street Electrical parade tickets are the same.
Adults are $65 each and children ages 3-9 are $25 each. This price does not include tax or gratuity, so keep that in mind. Children ages two and under don't require a meal at the restaurant, but you'll want to include them in the reservation to allow enough space for your entire party. Children ages two and under also won't require a ticket to get access to the special reserved area.
Bonus tip: Arrive a little early for your reservation time and request a table on the water.
Disneyland Electrical Parade Dinner Packages at Aladdin's Oasis
For a more laid back and affordable dinner package, make a reservation for the Aladdin's Oasis. Aladdin's Oasis is off to your left as you enter Adventureland. You'll pay for and pick up your meal at any time after your reserved time. You can pick up your meal as early as noon. You can take it to go, or eat at the Aladdin's Oasis.
Adults can choose from chicken, lasagna bolognese or vegetarian lasagna as their main course. Each meal also comes with a small salad, roll, dessert and non-alcoholic drink for $26. Kids can pick chicken, spaghetti with marinara sauce or macaroni and cheese. Kid meals come with veggies, fruit, a dinner roll, Mickey cookie and drink for $15 each.
The area with the Aladdin's Oasis preferred viewing is located near "it's a small world." You'll have a little more room and a great view.
Reservations for the Disneyland Electrical Parade dinner packages can be made 60 days in advance. We recommend booking as early as possible, because spots will sell out. You can make your Disneyland Electrical Parade dinner reservations at disneyland.com, or by calling 714-781-DINE (3463).
You won't want to miss the Main Street Electrical parade and the Disneyland Electrical parade dinner packages are the best way to do it. Hi Kim, Generally the earlier reservations (4pm or so) are for the first show. If you have a show preference, we recommend making your reservations over the phone vs. online or using the app.

Do you know what time you gave to order your food or make a reservation for to see the earlier show?

Hi there! There are no seats, but you are welcome to sit on the ground. Most people do end up sitting during the parade, but not all. The rows of people will depend on how many tickets were purchased for the event. However, Disney is great at making sure they give guests enough room and not packing the reserved areas too full. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Do the reserved areas have seats or do you have to stand? If you have to stand, how many rows of people can fit?

Hi Robin! You'll select your pick-up time when you make the reservation with Disney. That can be anywhere from noon to a bit later in the day. Then you'll return to the special viewing area at the time stated on the voucher you receive with your meal. Typically they only allow children up to 9 to purchase the kids meal, but they may make exceptions for you. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

for the Aladdin meal do we eat at anytime and go back for the parade for special viewing? Also would my 11 year old be eligible for the kids meal? Thank you.

Hi, the Blue Bayou does not include the Monte Cristo on the dining package. There are multiple steak options, including a surf & turf with a lobster tail, a chicken option, fish option and more. There is a lot of variety!

Does the blue bayou package have the monte cristo on the menu?
