What You Need to Know about “Cars Land” at Disney World

  • Construction begins at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 2025.
  • Two new attractions will debut in Frontierland and will not be renamed Cars Land.
  • These are unique to Disney World and not a copy of the space from California Adventure.
  • We’ll say goodbye to Rivers of America and accompanying attractions to make space for the new Cars rides.

Cars Rides at Walt Disney World

The Cars rides will sit in the front half of the current Rivers of America in Frontierland. We expect two attractions as announced at D23 in 2024.

From concept art, it seems we’ll keep certain elements of the current Frontierland like The Diamond Horseshoe and Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Inside this new space in Frontierland you’ll be able to stroll the frontier and explore some favorites from Pixar’s Cars.

  • One attraction will invite you on a thrilling rally race through the mountains. Take on wild terrain as you race across the landscape climbing mountain trails, dodging geysers and — Mater’s favorite — splashing through mud holes!
  • The second attraction will be geared towards them and will be fun for the whole family!

Cars-Themed Dining at Walt Disney World

Will we see new dining options in Frontierland once the cars arrive along their route? Trying out all the new food at Walt Disney World is one of our favorite pastimes, and our imaginations are going wild just thinking about what dishes we might find here.

Taking a look back at the Cars film franchise, there is some inspiration that might be used for new foodie finds in Magic Kingdom. We think these options would be super incredible:

  • Mater’s Junkyard BBQ – This could be a hearty, rustic BBQ joint inspired by Mater’s junkyard. We’re thinking classic BBQ dishes like ribs, brisket, cornbread, and baked beans. But would this option be different enough from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe to stand alone?
  • Luigi’s Piston Pitstop – Drawing inspiration from Luigi's tire shop in Cars, this could be a family-friendly pizza and pasta restaurant with a frontier twist. We think wood-fired pizzas, spaghetti, and breadsticks, giving it a rustic feel would allow it to fit into Frontierland. A quick service option would make certain it differs from Tony’s Town Square Restaurant on Main Street.

    • While neither of these options have been confirmed, we always enjoy daydreaming about food and the future of Walt Disney World. We can’t wait to see the transformation take place!
