We love Disneyland history and looking back at memories over the years. This article is no longer being updated, but is a great way to look back and see what was happening at Disneyland when this was originally published.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Reservations
Ever since Disney announced that there would be a reservation system in place for Galaxy's Edge from May 31 - June 23, 2019, the number one question we get is: How do I get a reservation for Star Wars land? There are a couple of ways and we'll cover them both. We will let you know how and when to help you best get your spot.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Reservations for Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests
Since the Star Wars land reservations system was announced, we have known that anyone who is staying at one of the three hotels of the Disneyland Resort between May 31 - June 23, 2019 will automatically receive a reservation.
If you are a guest at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, you will be assigned a reservation date and time. As of right now, reservations are being assigned for the day after you check in. If you are checking in a few days prior to May 31 (May 27 - 29, etc.), but your reservation extends over opening day, you will likely get a reservation for May 31, 2019. You may also possibly get the first available reservation, June 1 or 2, 2019 depending on availability. The only thing we know for sure is that hotel guests have been guaranteed a reservation, so if you have a Disney hotel reservation over those dates, you will be taken care of.
How many Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge reservations will I get?
How will I know when my Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge reservation is?
Guests who booked with Get Away Today will receive their exact reservation information from Get Away Today via email and then again when they check-in. We know that Disney is assigning the day after check-in as your reservation date, but times are a little bit different. If you don't receive an email, you can call our agents at 855-GET-AWAY or send an email to [email protected]. If you're still unsure of when your reservation time is, our best bit of advice is to leave your Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge day completely open. Even if you do know when your time is, you'll want to spend every minute possible in this new exciting land, so we advise that you keep your plans open that day.
Once you have your reservation time, you can start planning a little bit more, however we still recommend keeping your day rather open to account for anything unexpected. In the meantime, you can make a loose itinerary with your favorite attractions and quick-service restaurants. Just remember to be flexible!
Can I change my Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge reservations?
The short answer is... maybe. But, we don't recommend it. With reservations being as limited as they are, if you have one, embrace it. The chances of being able to change a reservation at all, even last minute, is highly unlikely. If you'd like to try to change your reservation, you can call Disney Customer Service directly (888) 854-3104 to ask for an exception.
Can I still book a Disneyland Resort Hotel to get Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge reservations?
Yes! We'd love to help you. You can browse our Disneyland packages online, or you can call our agents at 855-GET-AWAY. Availability is limited, so you'll want to book as soon as possible.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Reservations for General Public
If you are not staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, we have good news for you too. You'll have the option to make a reservation if you are visiting the Disneyland Resort May 31 - June 23, 2019 beginning on May 2, 2019.
Exact reservation details will be available at Disneyland.com beginning at 8am PT. The website will begin accepting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge reservations at 10am PT. That means you'll have two hours to prep yourself for making your Star Wars Land reservations.
We expect that reservations will go quickly and remember that just because you have park ticket for that day, you are not guaranteed to receive a reservation. We also think that the reservations system may be going a little slower than normal because people are so excited about visiting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Because of this, you'll want to make sure you have all of your reservation information available. Know your exact dates and be flexible. We're not sure how times or dates will display, so if you see an available day or time that will work, grab it. Don't be picky. Just be excited... YOU'RE GOING TO STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE!
What do I need to know about making my own Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge reservations?
Now that you know the exact day and time that reservations for Galaxy's Edge will be available, you'll want to make sure you're ready to go. In order to make a reservation, you'll need to be registered with a Disney account. Making an account is free, and is a good idea in general.
Anyone who is three or older, so basically anyone who needs a ticket to get into Disneyland, will need a reservation to get into Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Parents will be able to make reservations for their children, but we recommend all adults create their own Disney account.
General Information About Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Reservations
