As parents, our first priority when going on a vacation is keeping the kids safe. Because Disneyland can be so busy, it’s good to talk to your kids about being safe and establish a buddy system so no one ends up by themselves. These cute ID necklaces are great for the kids to wear while traveling. Kids love making them, and while stringing on beads and charms, it’s a great opportunity to talk about how to be safe. It’s great to know that if kids wander off, Cast Members or other adults in the Park have a way to contact their guardian.
Supplies Needed for your Vacation ID Jewelry
Vacation ID jewelry is easy to make and the supplies can be purchased at a craft store or online, we’ve linked some great options below. If you want to have some Disney Character charms, you can pick out a few necklaces like we did or buy a Disney bead set like we linked below. You will need a roll of stretchy jewelry elastic too.
Number and letter beads Stretchy elastic Disney Beads (Optional)
Making Your Phone Number Bracelets
Cut the elastic to the right length for a necklace or bracelet. Leave about 1.5 inches on each end for tying a knot. Lay out your child's name and phone number - or whatever identifiers you want to have on their jewelry.
Let your kids help slide the beads onto their elastic.
Once all the beads are in place, simply tie a square knot at the end and trim off the excess elastic. You can also add a dot of super glue to keep the knot secure.
