Your Cruise Questions Answered

How Can I get the best deal on a cruise?
First of all, book with Get Away Today. We know how to get the best rates, plus give you free gifts and onboard credits. Call us 6-9 months in advance for the lowest prices and best selection.
What is included?
When you cruise, your accommodations, all food, entertainment (including kids camps) and some beverages are included.
When is the best time to cruise?
That depends on where you want to go. Alaskan cruises sail from May - August; New England cruises are popular in the fall; Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexican Riviera cruises are great year round.
What extra costs can I expect on my cruise?
Gratuities are about $12/person for each day of your cruise and can be paid prior to sailing. All other costs are optional and may include drink packages (soft drinks and/or alcoholic beverages), spa treatments, some onboard restaurants and shore excursions.
Do I need a passport?
As long as you leave from and return to a U.S. port, you only need a birth certificate and a drivers licence. However, we highly reccomend having passports for your entire party in case you need to return to the States for any reason other than on your ship.
What will my cabin be like?
There are three cabin choices- inside, outside, and balcony. Inside cabins are the most economical, smallest and don't have a window. Outside cabins have a window with an ocean view and may be slightly larger than the inside cabins. Balcony cabins are the largest cabins with a private veranda.
How does pricing work?
Cruises charge a per person price. The first two passengers in each stateroom pay the same price and additional passengers in the same cabin normally pay a reduced rate. Most staterooms will allow up to four passengers.
When do I need to be to my port and how do I get there?
We recommend arriving in your port city a day in advance to allow enough time for travel. We can help arrange flights and shuttle service to the cruise ship terminal.
How do I pay for a cruise?
You can hold your cruise with just a down payment and continue to make payments before you sail. Most cruises must be paid in full 75-90 days prior to sailing.
What should I pack?
We will give you a list for your cruise, but for most cruises, you'll want 1-2 formal outfits, casual wear and beach wear.
